Docs V2 πŸ“•

At Trophy we're obsessed with developer experience. A huge part of that is having well-organised, easy to understand documentation. So that's why we're releasing V2 of our docs site.

Here's what's new...

Updated navigation

The docs now has two distinct sections navigated by tabs: Home and API Definition.

The Home tab is focused on learning. It's the single place with all the context of the features Trophy has to offer. You'll find guides on Metrics, User Identification, Achievements and much more.

The API Definition tab is focused on implementation. It's where you'll go once you've decided on what you want to build and are ready to get started. It's got details of authentication, rate limiting and a full API explorer.

There's also a quick link to our GitHub to check out our client SDKs.

Richer content

Throughout the docs you'll see we've added walkthrough videos and flowcharts in key places, not only to make the docs more accessible, but to make it easier to understand what Trophy is doing behind the scenes without needing to read a wall of text.

User Management APIs πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»

Up to now, the only way to tell Trophy about your users is using inline identification where users are automatically tracked as they interact with your product without needing to explicitly tell Trophy about them first.

This is great as it removes the need for explicit bookkeeping and constantly keeping Trophy up to date. But there are cases where it's more convenient to tell Trophy about users based on user interactions outside the gamification experience, such as when a user signs up or updates their profile.

To support these workflows, we've added 3 new APIs that allow developers to explicitly create, update and retrieve users.

New A/B Testing Controls πŸ§ͺ

By default, Trophy only enrols 90% of users in gamification emails. This helps you A/B test your set up and measure the impact on retention.

However on the integration page you'll now find a slider that allows you to change the ratio of users that are considered part of the 'control' cohort. Setting this to 30% for example will mean 70% of users that you tell Trophy about will be sent gamification emails.
